Alex Leggett and the Flood and Superhero Smith are amazing bands. They are wonderful people and musicians, and I feel honoured to be sharing the venue with them.

I am very grateful for this opportunity to show with my boyfriend Alex Leggett, who is a continuous source of inspiration personally and artistically. I hope to have more art and music shows with Alex in the future.

Inspired!

I went to many great art shows in Toronto this weekend....
The Whole Ball of Wax at Propeller,
Red Carpet at Drabinsky Gallery,
Bloodletting at Le Gallery,
Faces of the City at Show & Tell Gallery
and Sacrifices for the Sanguinary Age at Meta Gallery.

Today there was an artist talk by the artist Vincent Castiglia at Meta Gallery. His show Sacrifices for the Sanguinary Age was breathtaking! He was an amazing artist, speaker, and writer. His figurative work painted in blood and water had incredible luminosity and detail. I appreciated his work even more after I heard him talk about it. He is definitely one of my new favourite artists. I would love to go to New York to see more of his work. I strongly recommend going to his show at Meta Gallery, which runs September 10-October 10 2010.

New and Exciting Opportunities

I am going back to school for my fourth year at Ontario College of Art and Design University this week. I am really excited to get back into the studio and work on my thesis.
I am also starting an internship at Propeller Centre for the Arts, an artist-run gallery in Queen St West gallery district.
I am really looking forward to going back to school and starting the internship!

I will be posting some images of my works in progress over the next few weeks.
